Vodka and Comics

At last we have some new Youtube video reviews by fellow Rom fan, fellow Bill Mantlo fan, fellow discount back issue bin forager from his latest quest at the dirt mall. So get ready to take a trip back in time with The King of Thessaly (K.o.T) who's anything but sober or G rated. The first video primarily features Modok, Quasar, The Starriors and The Sectaurs (comics and toy line)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ztM7k3aDoA

Also, for you action figure collectors K.o.T has something for you too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J7KwgJ1DAE

So as far as Rom sightings this week go I'm sure by now you've all seen the Red Tornado & Rom team up cover art, thanks again Dale. And just in case you missed it my buddy Dan has a top ten list of comic characters that probably deserve their own movie and I think you'll be interested to know who made the cut: http://www.itsadansworld.net/2013/06/superman-aint-alone-comics-other-top-10.html

Continuing my Sabra theme in my postings lately at this time I would like to make an impromptu nomination for her to get her own movie deal too. Or at the very least she could maybe make an appearance in World War Z seeing as the movie in part takes place in Israel. More specifically Jerusalem, which kinda makes me wonder if the premise for the zombies is supernatural or biblical as opposed to scientific like in 28 Days Later. Either way I sure wouldn't want to see Sabra "zombified" like with the Marvel Zombies series. I must say a hypothetical live action Sabra practically has my mind racing with who might be the most ideal actress to play her. I'm thinking maybe mixed martial arts champion Gina Corrano. Corrano actually kinda looks like the Sabra character (plus she's fucken hot!) and as irony would have it she was trained by an Israeli Defense Force weapons specialist for her role as a secret agent in the movie Haywire.

Some new Rom fan art first thing next week.

  1. Holy shit is Gina Corrano hot, specially that pic!

The king is funny as usual, like that part where he
makes it seem as if Hank Pym killed his first wife because he hadn't learned to pull his punches yet. Fucking hilarious!

    Oh, and your welcome;)

    1. Hey, thanks.
Ha! -Spousal abuse is always totally hilarious... you know... e-except when it's real. *cough*

  2. I'm making no comment on hotness, but she does look capable of holding up the part. Okay, she's a righteous babe. Still...can she act?

I love how KOT makes his comics talk to the camera. And then rubs them. I also think he might be a little obsessed with MODOK's love life, but hey. We've all gotten a little too "in the head" of our action figures. Right?

    He's freaking hilarious, though.

    1. Wait, I make the comics talk? AND RUB THEM??? Ohhh, man... I should stop drinking so much.

      Damn, this is hard.

    2. It's okay KoT. We've all blacked out with our face stuck to a comic. I've never done it to MODAM...but like I said. I don't judge. :)

  3. Hey- I know that guy at the top... he's a fucking asshole! Do you know he actually liked Identity Crisis, AND he fucking owns the entire Mantra, and Avengelyne runs- NONironically? What a fucking tool. I should punch him in the face.

Thanks for the featured plug, though. That's awesome! It's nice to feel like I'm not just wasting my time with these videos and entertaining no one (but myself). I don't know what you're talking about, though- I'm more G-Rated than a Care Bears movie!
...Garth Ennis made The Care Bears, right? I'm a little lightheaded and confused- I just impaled my foot on a garden-weasel and there was a lot of blood. That's not a joke- I just did that twenty minutes ago- hurts like fucking hell! I stepped on it like an idiot- went right through my shoe and just came shy of popping out the top. -First I sat through Man Of Steel and now this... Ugh...

    1. oh man at first i thought you were talking about Dale at the top of the comments. i was about to say hey man he's your biggest fan next to me. as for that injury you better cauterize that wound here let me get a knife just pour some of your vodka on it until this flame gets my blade RED HOT!

  4. No, no, no- my bad... I meant at the top of the page/post, re: me- not the comments... Sorry, like I said- lightheaded.
My friend is trying to get me to go to the ER and I'm like "but there's internetting to do!". She actually kind of looks a little like Gina Carano. -Same haircut and facial bone-structure. She's not AS hot (shhhhhh- I did not say that) but even looking A LITTLE like Gina Carano is still pretty fucking hot, so...
Anyways, I think I'm okay- put the hot knife away, man! -It went through the shoe first so that pushed all the dirt off it and I cleaned it out the best I could- almost made me puke a few times though... TMI, I know...

    1. Now I'm wondering if you read aloud to yourself while you're typing.

  5. How do you not have a blog right now? You'd be set for life...you know if they actually paid us to do what we do and entertain the masses. Of course we're just doing this shit to entertain ourselves as well sooo, no complaints.

So, exactly how long have you been getting drunk and rubbing yourself with a MODOK figure? ha ha.

    1. Who, me? I dunno... laziness?
I have a shitty website/blog that's always down- collecting my videologs and random comic-related entries: http://www.thekingofthessaly.blog.com/
And I have a Twitter: https://twitter.com/Ceyx_Helel -Pretty much for my own amusement, as well...
I've always found the "popular" sites/people who talk comics to be a little on the pretentious, self-righteous, needlessly angry and/or misinformed side... Comics are supposed to be fun! Remember fun??? It's like- not everything has to be sexist, racist, misogynistic, objectifying and politically incorrect... maybe it's just a fun fucking COMIC BOOK! -Power down... I don't need 50 detailed reasons about why you did not like a series when I'm just wondering why you kept on reading it if you hated it so fucking much. Move the fuck on... *tangent concluded*
And I've never molested M.O.D.O.K. -HE CAME ON TO ME! And I don't care what the judge says; no restraining-order is gonna keep us apart!!!

  6. Man Gina is so sexy and believable in Haywire. Believable is the key word, a lot of action chicks do good but I don't believe the shit at all.

My girl Sabra should get some real exposure. A little while back Dan had a post regarding a new MI6. Sabra would be on my team, cross duties maybe but on the team.

K.o.T. is right. Comics are suppose to be fun. But who's gonna call out the bullshit?

    1. Tiger OA1, calling out the bullshit is our job. that's what our blogs and Youtube are for. as for Sabra, there's more on the way here first thing next week. i'll show you an actress they may fit the bill for Sabra even better then Corrano as hard as that maybe to believe.

  7. And that's why I love you guys. You keep the fun in comicbookland. Even when I'm sad about my favorite people going down the drain, I can always find something interesting on one of you guys' sites.

  8. Awww, "Can't you the feeeeeel the loveeee tonight?"
    Ha ha.

@Kot: Wait, so MODOK came onto you first huh? Sounds about right, since the dude's all into getting head;)

As for the comics are supposed to be fun part....yes, yes they are. now go tell that to Marvel and DC, specifically Dan "Dildo" Didio. Methinks he's in desperate need of a visit from both MODOK and his fugly sister MODAM.
