The Gambit piece makes me wonder what modern star missed their chance to team with ROM most? And the other two I dig because you can see the pencils and way each was sketched, from the reflection in one to the thigh-high boots in the other :)IADWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08339648236279349271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2178894507761299440.post-32044006654448350592012-08-01T09:48:40.686-07:002012-08-01T09:48:40.686-07:00not at all actually it just pretty happened to be ...not at all actually it just pretty happened to be fit perfectly pretty much as is. the other Wraith in the picture needed some work. primarily in adding an arm to her somehow cause the original Bill Sienkiewicz was just a face only.Shlomo Ben Hungstienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238927958290618109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2178894507761299440.post-1327678314251865412012-08-01T05:31:13.502-07:002012-08-01T05:31:13.502-07:00Guys & gals, what can I say, it's a partic...Guys & gals, what can I say, it's a particular thrill to have seen my art put on display here at this marvelous place that we frequent. Never had aspirations of being an artist, but what you see above is two instances in my life when youngsters looked to me for inspiration and I showed them...ROM. About ten years ago a boy asked me for a picture of his favorite characters Wolvie, Spidey & Gambit, and he loved the silver guy I drew him in the center so much he made a t-shirt with it. Then just a few months ago, my 6-year-old son and I were drawing on the same sheet of paper; his stick-figure Spider-Man on one half, my pencil "Warn Him Starshine!" on the other. Good times! Thanks everyone for the comments left here, and as always keep up the good work Shlomo. Your Dr. Strange piece is awesome, what strikes me is the depth, how the Wraith head in the foreground really looks closer than the rest of it and the one in the back looks farther away, it's surprisingly 3-D for being a mashup...did you alter the focus or something to make it look that way?Gary Martin, Jr.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11385338936431036524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2178894507761299440.post-66222558765730287982012-07-30T22:32:53.276-07:002012-07-30T22:32:53.276-07:00thanks for coming by. i got plenty of more rabbits...thanks for coming by. i got plenty of more rabbits busting outta this hat all this week!
aside from that custom figure, i found another rare Rom cameo appearance and i've got some more digital art lined up too.Shlomo Ben Hungstienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238927958290618109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2178894507761299440.post-76975282389079373772012-07-30T22:20:59.667-07:002012-07-30T22:20:59.667-07:00You keep pulling rabbits out of the proverbial hat...You keep pulling rabbits out of the proverbial hat. Beautiful angles and willingness to strike at the right perspective!!

Jay Potts piece is to over the top I like the pose real bold stance!! I'm also lovin Gary's pencil drawing with Starshine's look reflected in Rom's armor very nice touch right along with the Witches drilling tongues lapping at him from behind Aaaaa!!zhaanmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04559104254378962941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2178894507761299440.post-35696850163737453302012-07-29T17:18:20.555-07:002012-07-29T17:18:20.555-07:00The Dr. Strange piece looks like it was originally...The Dr. Strange piece looks like it was originally planned that way, Dave. Honestly, if you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known you pieced it. I'm really impressed.

I love the other three, but the Jay Potts really stands out to me. Probably because, as you say, the figure is just amazing. I always have trouble with that bit myself, so I'm in awe of anyone who does it so well, and when it's in such a stark setting, it really pops.

And really, "tongue spike". ...That's a nice bit of photoshop mashing there.
The Dr Strange and Wraith paintings do not clash in either style nor positioning/angle.

Top flight job!

As for a recent Doc vs Wraith witch battle, the recent FEAR ITSELF : THE FEARLESS had wraith witches going up against Doc and Daimon Hellstrom.
(But I think Daimon did more of the 1-on-1 with them, while Doc took on the "bigger picture".)~P~https://www.blogger.com/profile/09299078564477985626noreply@blogger.com
