ROM #26 cover spotted in TRON Legacy trailer
A special thanks to Andrew Cosson for bringing this to my attention. You are not seeing things. If you've managed not to get distracted by the gorgeous red head in the Black Widow costume I had open in photoshop when I took this screen shot you'll notice that indeed that is ROM#26. Now that's what I call staying power for a 80's Marvel character who's series ended 25 years ago! Given how nicely staged everything is in that seen with the Black Hole movie art and the Rubix cube I'm thinking it's not a coincidence that a ROM issue is in there too. It's too bad they didn't have the len's view so that we could see a bit of the "ROM" title but that might be because of the letter box format. hey very cool site you've got here! can't believe i haven't heard of it before now. can't wait to read more posts.
ReplyDeletePerhaps now that Marvel has the power of Disney behind them, they can finally take Rom back to where he belongs? One can only hope.
ReplyDeletewell for now i'd settle for just finding out how exactly did that copy of ROM end up there. was one of the producers a ROM fan? or did they want to work in that shot something distinctive 80s from the comic book genre and figured ROM would do? i'm sure it's only a matter of time before that info. finds it's way to some fanboy site but i'd sure like to know now.
ReplyDeleteThat's odd - my comment from yesterday never appeared... maybe it was chomped by Dire Wraiths!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty sweet - hopefully Tron is a mind-blower like the original was.
