This is pretty cool. I don't know who the artist is but it has a
Bill Sienkiewicz style to it that's for sure. I've been finding so much stuff on ebay lately for sale that I thought the matter deserved this impromptu posting this morning before I go back to bed. When you go to
ebay type in the key word search field "Rom spaceknight original art" to pull up the listing of the latest stuff complete with thumbnail images of course. A lot of it isn't bad and it's all pretty reasonably priced for working stiffs like us.
Nice Rom in this hybrid hmm
ReplyDeleteJoseph, did i see you over at that "Bring Rom spaceknight back" face book page?
DeleteYes and how i found your you tube vids
Deletethat's good that you did, that page is pretty weak. not much chatter there and what little there is when it comes to the most current interaction it seems to be about stuff i blogged about last year already. i don't know what that is but most of the time people like to stick to that one social forum of choice rather it be face book, deviant art, youtube or whatever. which is really stupid to me because why would you not bother go to a social forum that has the most varied and updated information on your favorite subject matter? i just don't get that, but i'm glad you're wiser then most.
DeleteYea that page is a ghost town. I use facebook deviant art and you tube all for various things. though i only follow 1 blog this one i found after buying that art. Elite blog for all things ROM for sure
DeleteOther than the perspective on the legs seeming to have given him a bit of difficulty I like it. Good find, Shlomo. That might be in my head, though. I can't squint right now.
ReplyDeletegood catch i was thinking the same with the foreshortening of the legs. but fortunately the kinda "sketchy" nature of the rendering distracts your eye from it.
DeleteOh good, it's not just me. :) I was worrying about brain damage. Fortunately he seems to be really good at the "sketchy". It's a strength. And the rest looks fantastic.
DeleteIt's an Amazing piece brother I can see the perspective issue but it's not too bad he did color a bit of space over his crotch a bit but hay I love that Cylon like style to the visor it makes him seem tuffer!!
ReplyDeleteNice, though the eyes don't look right to me. But I think that has always been one of the trickiest parts to doing Rom right. Those glowing red eyes.
ReplyDeletethanks for the feed back today Brian and Zhaanman i like seeing how people interpret art work differently as well as when they are on the same page.
ReplyDeleteThe cylon eyes i dont mind .Rom is pretty good all around even with space/stars on his leg. Maybe its a reflection off the shinny body of Rom. I can imagine that looking at it.
ReplyDeleteHybrid when i said hmm above i ment he looks bad and goofy faced and think i would like this that much more if he was not in it.
don't forget guys next Wednesday Avengers Prelude to Infinity #17 comes out with what will hopefully continue the Galador/Spaceknights story line.
ReplyDeleteactually scratch that last comment. apparently "published twice monthly" doesn't actually mean every two weeks. it quite literally means that two issues will be published per calendar month and July already had #15 and #16 which means we are going to have to wait until Aug.7th for issue #17. that sucks.
DeleteI like the way the cosmos patterns blast out behind him - it really makes it all look pretty dramatic. You are right about the cost of some sketches too. I'd love to pay the prices ask because much of the art is worth even more, but at the same time me and my wallet have to sadly walk away. You know, to pay boring stuff like bills and food :)
