I've shared a lot of this recently discovered stuff with those of you I know from Farce book and Deviant Art but for those of you who I don't know through those social networks I'm gonna make a special posting today. ReplyDeleteDann the man Phillips strikes again with 3 nice works. He is restless in his ROM art .there will be more i wager it sells well . I like them all but the one with the spaceknights is extra sweet.
If ROM were to come back today he would deff be on my top of the list as an artisit for the book. His own cosmic book is pretty rad.
DeleteI gotta agree with Joseph, that was my favorite. Unless we can count Howard the Duck. I really like his Howard. The man has a definite talent with the pencil lead.

That howard was pretty sweet. He was selling it cheap at the same time i bought that rom of his. No one bid on the howard he may still have it.
DeleteI must also agree with my fellow bloggers! Dann is an amazing artist. His art, and his ROM, are more than just great to look at, they are actually really expressive! I think thats hard, and worthy of mentioning. You are a pro Dann!

i wanted to raise a good point about something that Rom does in the video just before he summons his analyzer. he lowers the surface temperature of his armor in order to put out the flames on his left arm. we've seen him do something like this before in ROM 37 in which he battle Watch Wraiths. in issue 37 he did the same thing to his armor when he was sprayed with a burning gel like substance called plasma fire by two watch wraiths.

DeleteShlomo reguarding the twitter link and that new remix page . ROM looks ok but i dont remember a whole gaggle of ROMs in the background in issue 1.
ReplyDeleteyeah it looks like the guy just got lazy when it came to drawing the other spaceknights. it's possible he may be intending on giving them different color schemes later on but even so this peace over all is pretty mediocre.
DeleteLove the vids and Dann's art! Some of the tweets are pretty cool like the costume but I agree with Joseph about the gaggle of gangly galadorians.ROM comes complete with separate index finger too O_o. Respect the metallic mittens :)

DeleteHey Ben did you see that leaked listing of Hasbro toys that came out last month? It appeared on a menu at their customer service site and has been since taken down. But on it was a listing for a ROM toy and some people are speculating that it was shown at Toy Fair this year.

Strange but the photo looks more like soundwave. The name ROM in a transformers release line is odd even as the lower teir of their line as botshots. Be a shame if they bought the toy rights just to release this. Soundwave renamed as ROM as a botshot. I love me some soundwave but come on.

Deletei appreciate the heads up EKM. but if i was a betting man i'd put my money on that this has much to do about nothing. i'm really burnt out on all the Rom return hype that never amounts to anything as we've been subjected to for the last two years or so. first it was with the Annihilators mini-series, then some crap about Hasbro filing for the ROM trademark or whatever and then of course that Age of Ultron preview. all of it boiled down to jack shit and i'm pretty sure this is more of the same.
DeleteI agree i think we all want a grand return but reality is hype and that may be all we may ever get. This either was a screw up or just another insult if it is realy a transformer released as ROM.

ReplyDeleteyeah i wouldn't even recommend you try holding your breath for the next posting RT. but at least that's something you can count on happening. probably in a few hours or so from now which is still longer then you can hold your breath i'm guessing.
