Awesome Rom custom action figure recently sold on ebay for $130.00

Left click to enlarge
For all you ROM fans with a disposable income just look what you missed out on not too long ago. But ROM fan or not, outside of the one percent does anyone actually have a disposable income anymore these days?
In just a couple days you guys can help me identify a newly found Rom cameo flash back appearance. Plus, is there any other alien species in the Marvel Universe as vile and menacing as the Dire Wraith? I can think of at least one other that might qualify and we'll take a look at what a war between the two might look like.

    1. Serious stuff right? This figure should have made the Legends line. And (Dammit Jim) classic, and very funny.

  2. I'm wondering if the guy does custom work now. That's just amazing. Wow.

Not that I could. You know. Pay for it. But he could have some slave labor. I have kids. He could use their tiny fingers for assembly line work.

  3. Anybody else think when we saw this figure "that reminds me so much of how Pat Broderick drew him in Annual #1?" Sure enough, tracking down the listing on ebay, the guy's got a picture of a page from that issue there, apparently his inspiration, indeed. I wouldn'ta seen this without your post, Shlomo (seller really shoulda had "Spaceknight" in his title), and I'm *really* looking forward to the newly found ROM cameo flashback appearance you've been teasing...

  4. Side note: Did ~P~ ever finish going through Marvel Ages for you? I was waiting to compare notes, as I had recently scoured the whole series myself (finding that calendar appearance was a pleasant shock). If you read this ~P~: I was going to reply now after that other comment where you listed what you'd found so far but I was afraid you wouldn't see it. You had found the small caricature in the Bullpen map, which I hadn't, good eye, appreciated that.

    1. i don't know if ~P~ was gonna actually do that plus i don't know if he's got the time for that. at this point i think we got pretty much everything on this blog when it comes to Marvel Age Rom related stuff with the exception of Marvel Age #23. just put "Marvel Age" in this blog's word search feature.
i know Walt Simonson did some sketch art for the new Starshine and female Dire Wraiths that i believe appeared in Marvel Age also but those images have been easy enough to find on the net for years now. i'm glad you've been happy with what i've been posting. that new found cameo will be up later tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.

  5. Yes, yes I would:)
No this custom figure is a big bundle of sweetness right there. I'm trying real hard to figure out what DCUC figures or figures the guy used to make that custom ROM with, but other than maybe Robotman, and maybe Negative Man's hands, I have no clue. It's a standard DCUC buck for sure, but after that...no clue.

I wouldn't having this work of art myself though. So many skits/things I could use this little sucker for, and no not like that you nasty:)
