Some of that awesome ROM fan art I've had here before, check it out in color!

I can't take credit for this coloring job it was actually done by the original artist Dan Phillips I'm sure you all remember my posting not long ago of the black n' white version (July 1st posting). So much cool stuff having to do with ROM just seems to be coming out of the wood work lately it's almost like a part time job keeping this blog updated on a weekly basis.

Here's a little something I came up with last night. It seems I periodically find myself doing some sort of Bill Mantlo tribute art.

And speaking of the Micronauts I found this posting on a Micronauts face book page. Needless to say I thought it was pretty funny what this guy says. Honestly, why are people so squeamish about this blog's title? Especially in this day and age where Wolverine drops the "F" bomb in his latest movie? Which he also did in X-Men 1st Class too by the way. And just as Reminder even though Avenger Infinity #17 doesn't come out till August 7th I will have some more cool stuff next Thursday. August 1st.

  1. It may be just because I've been reading so many B&W Marvel Mags lately (e.g. Tales of the Zombie, Howard the Duck, Haunt of Horror and Marvel Premier Present) but I really prefer the uncolored version. I really DO like this artwork, but moreso the B&W draft. Oh, and thanks for spoiling The Wolverine for me (kidding!). Very cool posts, as usual. Much appreciated, man!

    1. nothing to apologize for Rick what you said by no means was unreasonable. but i'm glad you shared it here cuz i'm curious what other people's take on it will be when it comes to black n' white vs color on this one.

    2. B&W... colour... They both look good to me! I prefer the black and white one- but if I had never seen it- and you showed me this; I'd think it was just as awesome.

  2. Jesus- they way that Sensy talks you'd think this blog was called: 'The Fucking ROM Blog for Fuckers Who Aren't Total Fucking Dick, Asshole, Fuck-Faces... You Bitch!'
Actually... That's a pretty cool name. You should use that.
Fuck... don't show that clan any of my videos... let alone 99% of the internet.
Hey, I just saw the Micronauts comic that Image put out for a quarter at the Dirt-Mall this morning. I did not even know that was a thing! You ever read it? I did not pick it up- never was into Micronauts really...
And I think I can speak for everyone and say- we greatly appreciate your weekly efforts here! ...here at The Fucking ROM Blog for Fuckers Who Aren't Total Fucking Dick, Asshole, Fuck-Faces... You Bitch!

    1. in regards to the art that's a good way of looking at it. yeah i read that issue along with 1-30 and some other miscellaneous issues from the Mantlo run. as for the blog title, ROM fan or otherwise if someone can't handle the word "dick" in there and doesn't want to come here as a result i say . . . . well you pretty much said it perfectly already. hearing you go off about that after a few drinks in one for your vids would be happy comedy for sure. thanks for swinging by more great stuff ready to go for Aug. 1st.

  3. That coloured art at the top is awesome! It reminds me of the glow in the dark Dr Strange, X-Men fluro posters of the 80's.
I'd actually like Marvel to test the waters for revivals of characters like ROM and Shang-Chi by putting out b&w comic mini-series'. I think cult characters can come of better mono, and it keeps Marvel's expenses down.

    1. and Marvel would all but certainly have done it for ROM by now if it wasn't for a certain legal matter that i'm sure you know of. by the way i thought Shang-Chi was still around no?

    2. Yeah he is just not in his own title, so not quite enough. You know us Kiwi's - demanding lot!

  4. I actually thought word Dick was in reference to some other ROM blog filled with assholes

The colored version of the original bw I bought is very cool but I am biased owning the original so of course I prefer it. this makes me wonder how he did this. It's exact but the the wraiths caught in the ray who are red now not black don't look drawn over a print. I wonder

  6. I think I like them both equally. He really picked a great color palette. Anything else and I would have said he should have left well enough alone, but this pops just right.

    1. well put, the black n' white version looked great but you just can't dismiss how this color version catches your eye.

  7. It kind of reminds me of some of the early covers where people were still working out the look. The palette certainly harks back to the 80's.
