And the awesome fan art just keeps on coming!

Free Comic Book Day was a bust. I didn't see anything that was of any interest to me all the free comics were crap and they were using the back issue bin area for more space so I wasn't able to do my usual foraging there for cool old school shit. But fear not as you can see here I've always got cool new stuff to showcase that I'm quite certain most of you haven't seen yet.

Here's something I found on Deviant Art a Eddy Barrows who hails from Brazil. This amazing piece is named simply "Marvels" and I'm glad he included the greatest of the spaceknights in the mix.

And in this next piece by dann phillips from deviant art we're takn it all the way back to the tail end of the 70s with the three coolest toy based comics of their day.

More awesome Bill Mantlo characters inspired fan art coming in just a few days!

  1. Eddy Barrows is great - he really kicked off the new Nightwing series in style. Too bad DC still don't really seem to know what to do with Dick Grayson. Love that Nova made it in too!

    1. hey Dan, i was thinking about you actually. i see you're familiar with Barrows, i was gonna suggest his piece for consideration of a "Making the Mark" posting candidate some day. DC doesn't seem to know what to do with much of anything these days. and the Suicide Squad title is no exception as if you didn't know that already from my rants.

  4. Saw Iron Man 3 last night. It's different from all the other Marvel films. Perhaps not a good fit for younger viewers, which is odd considering that it's a comic book film.
This is awesome artwork, especially since it features our good pal Rom. Life just keeps getting better as long as creative people keep making art.

  5. ~Raideeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!! Nice.
Have not seen Iron-Man 3 yet... probably won't get to in theaters.
2 was such a disappointment, though. And the whole franchise seems to be built as super-hero movies for people who are not really into super-heroes. I'll see it on DVD, though. Or pirate the fuck out of it... whatever- I'll give it a chance at least.
Iron-Man has never been a favorite of mine. I think I own about 12 Iron-Man comics out of 26 years of "collecting".

    1. well my friend i know you're kinda iffy on Iron Man but i guarantee you'll nothing but love my next posting seeing how it has to do with something way cool in upcoming comics and Mr. Bill "spaceknight" Mantlo. but i also have some Rom/Iron Man team up art you might actually like too when i post it. you got any more video's on the horizon for your latest comic back issue hauls? i wanna hear some more Fbombs as you praise all that stuff that i like too.

    2. Hey, if it were Iron Man 2020, I'd be all over it!
As for new videos... I just have not had the time. I freed-up some cash though, and am gonna hit up The Dirt Mall this Wednesday- first time this year. If I find some cool stuff- I might have a new video up by the weekend. If not, I'll just post a video-montage of my cat sleeping to the delight of no one.
      Bill "spaceknight" Mantlo, nice!
