And on the matter of back issues and other such comic book related matters I thought you all might like to have a look at my local comic shop. That theater right next to it is where I saw Iron Man 3 last weekend. It's the first time I had been there for years ironically but I should make a point of going there to see movies more often as a matter of supporting local businesses.
I'm looking for some opinions on this other Rom fan art I just found. I like the colors, the layout and Bill Sienkiewicz like style but the way this guy drew Rom him self just kinda spoiled this piece for me: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1013293&GSub=121187
I give the guy/gal props for putting in the effort to show his/her love for ol' toasterhead, as well as for not going overboard with Rom's physique like so many artists do when drawing superheroes. The artist gets an "A" for creativity, too, if not for refined talent.
ReplyDeletethanks for the feed back Rick. you wouldn't know it by the name but that artist is a dude, there's a little profile photo below the art work on the comicartfans page.
DeleteI like it. I'm not sure I'd like a whole comic of that style, unless it was Hellboy or BPRD, but in a one off for ROM, just as a cover or poster, it kind of feels like they dragged ROM into the world of horror comics. Which is a definite possibility, cause those wraiths are straight up disgusting.
ReplyDeleteyes they are but even dire wraiths ain't got nothin on those terror apologist leftist anti-Semites i like to feature in my videos so much. thanks for sharing your thoughts on that piece.
Deletei'm going to San Jose today for the Big WOW Comic Fest if anything especially cool comes of it i'll update this posting.
